President: Lijuan (Josie) Zhao
As President, Lijuan Zhao provides leadership and direction for the society, ensuring its smooth operation and growth. Known for her responsibility, attention to detail, and genuine care for others, she is committed to fostering a supportive and inspiring community where everyone feels valued. Guided by lifelong learning and personal development, Lijuan strives to encourage growth and inspire members through her own journey. Her leadership emphasizes kindness, collaboration, and encouragement, making her a trusted and approachable guide. Outside of her professional role, Lijuan enjoys music, yoga, meditation, and astrology, reflecting her love for balance, mindfulness, meaningful connections, and her commitment to uplifting those around her.
Vice President – Operations: Ruifei (Edith) Mei
As VP-Operations, Ruifei Mei organizes activities based on member connections and tradition Chinese festivals. She manages ventures, logistics and planning, fostering strong connections among society members and ensuring the smooth running of events. Outside of her operation role, Ruifei is passionate about baking and she enjoys providing homemade desserts for society events. She wishes to bring more energy and warmth to the society.
Secretary: Liqiong (June) Su
As a Secretary, Liqiong Su’s responsibilities include sending meeting notices, drafting meeting agendas, and transcribing minutes during meetings. She also keeps the member list up to date and regularly updates contact information to ensure members are contactable. She is grateful to be part of a committee where people care and grow together.
Treasurer: Kailin (Kaitlyn) Lei
As Treasurer, Kailin is responsible for managing the society’s finances, maintaining accurate records, tracking income and expenses, and supporting fundraising efforts. She holds a degree in Accounting and currently works at an accounting firm, where she has developed strong skills in financial reporting and budgeting. She’s committed to transparency and helping the organization thrive financially. In her free time, she enjoys watching TV shows and going to concerts.
Vice President – UA Relations: Tingyu (Estella) Zhen
Tingyu Zheng (Estella) serves as UA Relations, where she takes the role of supporting both current and incoming University of Alberta students. She maintains close communication with students, addressing issues such as their program application, credit transfer to campus life, ensuring timely assistance. She is also tasked with maintaining the consistency and updating of CPKMSS student information within the school and the community. By interacting regularly with current and prospective scholarship recipients, she commits to building supportive relationships and strengthening the bridge between students and the Society. Estella is a warm-hearted and outgoing person. She enjoys making friends, traveling and different sports games.
Vice President – Communications: Haiying (Kate) Kuang
As VP-communication, Haiying Kuang is responsible for collecting, editing, and updating communication materials on society’s public-facing platform, including the website, WeChat account, etc. Sharing study abroad experiences, job hunting suggestions, university survival guides, and cultural insights with students studying abroad and their families, particularly in Edmonton and Taishan. She enjoys helping people connect through social media platforms. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring new food and discovering new things and places.
Vice President – Technology: Hobie Lee
As VP-Technology, Hobie is responsible for maintaining tech-related tasks within the society, as well as providing tech support for the society. He is passionate about football, cinema, local culture preservation, linguistics, and philosophy.
