President: Qiting Chen
As President, Qiting oversees the running of the society and defines annual plans. She is the main point of contact for the Society, and responsible for promoting the Society where appropriate. The President will provide support and guidance to other committee members. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering and community involvement. Qiting provides information on volunteer opportunities to a group of international students who are studying in Edmonton, aiming to promote volunteering as a way to enrich students’ lives. Qiting likes dogs, cats, and plants.
Vice President – UA Relations: Shiqi Cao
As VP UA (University of Alberta) Relations, Shiqi is the primary contact for current U of A students and eligible Chan Pang Kuen Memorial Scholarship candidates for enquiries ranging from program applications to campus life. In her spare time, Shiqi always loves to explore new restaurants in Edmonton and go traveling.
Vice President – Communications: Fanbang Yang
As VP Communications, Fanbang is mainly responsible for maintaining the social platform of the Alumni Association, including WeChat public account and YouTube channel. Post alumni association news on social platforms and actively connect the people of the two places between Edmonton and Hoi Shan. Secretary: Yanna Lin
As Secretary, Yanna attends all meetings of the society and keeps accurate minutes and notes. She maintains the list of members, and sends notices of meetings to members as required. In her spare time, she likes reading, hiking, outdoor activities and participating in volunteer activities. Yanna also likes to travel and see new things.
Treasurer: Shanshan Wu
Treasurer is responsible to know how finance of the Society stands at any point of time. Shanshan plans to make good use of the fund, keeps track of all contributions and expenditure accordingly and reports the financial condition to the society members. If there is a financial need, she will organize fundraising events, and seek sponsorship for the Society etc to gain financial support. In her spare time, she likes to read, hiking and participate in volunteer activities. Shanshan also likes to travel and see new things.
Vice President – Operations: Haihui Ma
As VP Operations, Haihui is responsible to make major events happen smoothly and coordinates all of the society’s activities, including celebrations, annual welcome events, team building events, and community service events, etc. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hanging out with friends and travelling.
Vice President – Technology: Zijie Tan
As VP Technology, Zijie is responsible for maintaining the Society website and troubleshooting all technical questions that may rise. He performs updates to chanscholarship.com and seeks continuous improvement in all social platforms the Society uses.
